1. Scope
This policy applies to FlightDan’s public website, web application, API, Telegram bot, flight-following features, trip features, and public share links. Third-party services linked from FlightDan have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we process
Account information
If you sign in with Google, FlightDan receives the Google account identifier and profile information included in the verified sign-in token, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. FlightDan does not receive your Google password.
If you use the Telegram bot, FlightDan may process your Telegram user and chat identifiers, username, display name, and language preference. If you connect Google and Telegram, the two identities are associated with one FlightDan account.
Flights, trips, and sharing
FlightDan stores date-specific flights you follow, their notification and optional trip-grouping state, trip names, traveler names you choose to enter, cached flight status, and generated public share codes. A public share link can be opened by anyone who has the link.
Browser storage, campaign attribution, and technical information
The web application stores the FlightDan session token and account information in your browser’s local storage. Older or authentication-disabled versions may also store a randomly generated browser identifier. Signing out removes the current session from that browser.
If you arrive through a link containing campaign parameters, FlightDan stores the first source, medium, campaign, and content labels in local storage and associates them with your account when you successfully sign in. This helps us understand whether a campaign leads to sign-ups and followed flights. FlightDan does not use this feature to store your referring page, create a device fingerprint, or build an anonymous page-view history, and no third-party analytics SDK receives these labels.
Our hosting and network infrastructure may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, timestamps, requested URLs, response codes, and browser or device information.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate users and maintain account sessions.
- Look up flight information and display current status.
- Save dated flights and optionally group them into trips.
- Monitor selected flights and send Telegram or browser notifications.
- Link web and Telegram identities when you request it.
- Create public flight and trip share links.
- Measure whether first-party campaigns lead to sign-ups and followed flights.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve FlightDan.
4. Services that receive information
FlightDan relies on service providers to operate. Google verifies Google sign-ins. Telegram delivers bot interactions and notifications. Flight-data providers receive flight identifiers and, where necessary, operating dates so FlightDan can request status data. They are not sent your Google profile merely to perform a flight lookup.
Infrastructure providers may process data necessary to host and transmit FlightDan. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Public share links
Shared flight and trip pages are intentionally public to anyone with the URL. Do not put sensitive personal information in trip or traveler names. If a link should no longer be shared, contact us for assistance and avoid distributing it further.
6. Retention
Account, followed-flight, trip, and linking information is retained while needed to provide FlightDan and maintain the relevant account. Flight status history and operational records may be retained for shorter or longer periods when needed for reliability, security, or legal obligations. Retention practices may evolve as the service matures.
7. Your choices
You can unfollow flights, delete trips, sign out, disconnect your use of the bot, and remove local browser data through your browser settings. To request access, correction, account deletion, or another privacy action, email support@flightdan.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account.
8. Security
FlightDan uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect stored information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so keep private links and account access credentials confidential.
9. Children
FlightDan is a general travel utility and is not designed to collect information from children independently. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information can contact us to request review or removal.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as FlightDan’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be announced through the service.
