Standalone flights and trip groups share one chronological home timeline. Active flights rise into Live, future flights stay in Upcoming, and completed flights remain available under Past.
Trips without a second kind of flight
A trip is an optional label around the same tracked flights. Group an existing flight, add one directly to a trip, or keep it standalone without duplicating monitoring state.
Updates through the channels you actually use
FlightDan monitors each dated flight independently and sends reported status changes through browser push, Telegram, or both. It also warns when active flights have no alert channel enabled.

Airline schedules appear gradually and live coverage differs by airport. FlightDan treats those limitations as part of the product rather than hiding them.
- Provisional schedules for future tracked flights are clearly identified and replaced when an exact occurrence is published.
- Polling becomes more frequent near departure and while a flight is active, then slows for a 90-minute post-landing live window.
- Provider health is kept separate from API health so operational problems are easier to understand.
- Flight information remains advisory; the operating airline and airport are always the final authority.
